You can use either the Client or OpenEdge Management or OpenEdge Explorer to perform many of the startup and shutdown tasks. These methods provide you with a GUI interface for managing and configuring databases and servers. If you are not using a Windows environment, or if you prefer a command-line interface, you can choose to enter commands at the command line to perform these tasks.
