The Unified Broker framework is a system administration framework that provides a consistent interface in which specific OpenEdge products, such as the MSS DataServer, can be managed. It supports elements that allow you to perform such common administrative tasks as
Starting and stopping processes
Managing, configuring and validating property files
These elements include the OpenEdge Management/OpenEdge Explorer configuration tool, mergeprop utility, and command-line utilities.
The framework also facilities activities that are fundamental to the Oracle DataServer's broker-based technology. For example, the AdminService, the framework's central element, enables supported products like the Oracle DataServer in managing an application's resources.
