Environment variables required by an AppServer are set during either AppServer installation or startup. You can modify these initial settings in the registry in Windows or in the shell scripts installed with OpenEdge on UNIX. You can also override most of these settings for an AppServer or NameServer using OpenEdge Management or OpenEdge Explorer. For more information, see Configuring AppServer components.
