Messages
ClientASK sends a message only after the interval set in the clientASKActivityTimeout property expires and no activity occurs between the server and client. Each successful RunProcedure request and response rests the timer. If the client issues a keepalive message and receives a keepalive response (or any other message from the server), then the connection timestamp is updated, the timer is reset, and the connection continues as normal. This minimizes the overhead required to use the protocol. You should set the property such that the interval is greater than the time it takes to process several normal operations from the server.
Note: A client may be a newer or older software version than a server, so the ClientASK protocol establishes the highest compatible version of the protocol to use for a particular connection.
