The following fields and commands are available:

| Persistence | Radio buttons for selecting the storage format for component models. | |
| Auto-link components | An option to have the Component Designer automatically create default relationships between certain components. | |
| Disable advanced wizard features | An option to skip selection of a model file when creating a new component with XMI storage in effect. If this option is selected, the component is stored in the default appModel.t4bl file in the project root folder. | |
| Diagram background color | An option to select a color for the Component Designer canvas. |
