Be sure that you have set up the SampleApp project, created the database, and started the database server as described in Setting Up the Sample Application Project .
Start Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge in the workspace that contains the SampleApp project.
Verify that the SampleApp project AVM (runtime) has started and is connected to the sports2000 server.
Open the OpenEdge Visual Designer perspective.
