OpenEdge SQL ODBC and JDBC clients can connect to a server of the current release, and one release forward and back. For example, 11.6 clients can connect to a 11.6, 11.5, 11.4, 11.3, 11.2 or a 11.1 server; 11.1 clients can connect to a 11.1 or 11.2 server.
