Filename for rolled-over log files
To order log files and avoid name conflicts, OpenEdge uses the following format for naming rolled-over log files:
filename.######.extension
filename
Log filename you specify.
######
OpenEdge adds the sequence number starting at 000001 and increases for each new log file until 999999, after which it rolls back to 000001.
extension
Log file extension you specify.
In the following example the log file name is asbroker1.server and the log file extension is log:
asbroker1.server.000001.log
Caution: Do not specify the filename with a sequence number in the Client Logging (-clientlog) startup parameter or for the related property (in the ubroker.properties file). OpenEdge determines the correct filename and sequence number, based on the filename you specify.
