Windows Server 2008 R2 Cluster support with OpenEdge Windows 64-bit
Due to changes in Windows Failover Cluster implementation, there are minor differences in the OpenEdge support for Windows 2008 R2.
In Windows 2003, OpenEdge uses the default group "Cluster Group" to register the RDBMS cluster resources. In Windows 2008 R2, Microsoft changed "Cluster Group" to be a Core group that is hidden and not able to be viewed or manipulated in the Failover Cluster Manager. A new group, "OpenEdgeDatabase" is added when an OpenEdge database is enabled for clustering. This group is available through the Failover Cluster Manager for you to administer your database and other resources. When you enable a database for clustering for the first time, the "OpenEdgeDatabase" group is added to Services and Applications. The OpenEdge database and its dependent disks are resources of this group. If required, you can add more resources, for example network name, to this group using the Windows Cluster Administrator.
