The Java installer can be used to install the program on non-Windows platforms, but it may be run on Windows systems as well. If running the Java installer on Windows, you must either select a non-system directory as the installation directory or turn off User Account Controls. Whether running the installer on a Windows or non-Windows platform, a Java SE 6 or higher JVM is required and must be defined on your path.

The Windows installer can be run on any supported Windows platform. The Windows installer allows you to install the driver in the Program Files system directory on Windows without turning off User Account Controls.
Important: If running the Java installer on Windows, you must either select a non-system directory as the installation directory or turn off User Account Controls.

Before proceeding with an installation, take the following steps to set up an installer directory for installation.
1. Download the product zip file.

2. Unzip the files to a temporary directory, maintaining the directory structure of the zip file.
