Editing, testing, and deleting Data Source definitions

Progress DataDirect Hybrid Data Pipeline enables easy access to a variety of data sources including databases, data repositories, and SaaS applications. To provide access, you use the dashboard or API to create a Data Source definition for each backend data source. The Data Source definition contains the information necessary to connect to the data source. See Creating a Data Source Definition for more information.
Your subscription plan specifies the types of data sources available to you, such as Oracle, Salesforce, and MySQL You can create multiple Data Source definitions for the same data source and for the same type of data source. For example, you might have an one Oracle Data Source definition for testing and one for production that points to a different instance.
For a subset of data source types, Hybrid Data Pipeline supports OData access. You enable this access in the Data Source definition. OData access occurs over HTTP and does not require a driver installed locally like JDBC and ODBC do. See Enabling OData and working with Data Source groups for more information.
Each OData-enabled Data Source definition exposes one schema in one data source through a schema map. The Data Source name becomes part of the Resource Path in the OData URI. To allow OData clients to use one Resource Path to access data from multiple schemas, create a Data Source Group.
A Data Source Group contains references to Data Source definitions that have been enabled for OData. You can specify the Data Source definitions when you create the group, or add them later. The following table describes three data sources that are combined in a data source group. See Creating a Data Source definition for more information.
